JV Players - Uniforms

JV Players only

If you are new to the club or you have outgrown your jerseys from this past season you will need to visit TGP Sports at the Rec-Plex for a fitting. Let them know that you need to be fitted for a Liberty High School jersey. The cost for the home/away jerseys and socks package is $284 plus tax and you are responsible for payment. Bring your shoulder pads to the fitting.

If your returning player is in need of JUST uniform socks they are $17/pair plus tax. Just send me an EMAIL on the socks along with size and I'll order additional through TGP and can be reimbursed.

League games can begin in late October and all players must meet the uniform requirements set forth by MidStates Hockey. Please visit TGP Sports at your earliest convenience. Jerseys are taking a MINIMUM of 8-weeks. Existing players will keep their current jersey number. New players will choose their jersey number based on the order they register (which is forthcoming) and the available numbers. You will NOT need your jersey number for the fitting in order to speed things up.

Each new Liberty player receives a pair of custom Warrior gloves in the Liberty colors. Players that are new to Liberty should try on a pair of Warrior gloves at TGP while there. You will just need to let me know the size and the club will order and pay for the gloves. If you are a returning player wanting a new set of gloves, you can try them on as well or email me the correct size. We will add these gloves to the order however, you will be responsible for reimbursing the club for the $95/pair plus tax cost. ALL GLOVE SIZES NEED TO BE EMAILED TO ME!

All players on the JV team are required to wear NAVY colored hockey pants to comply with the Mid States Hockey rule. A navy shell is an acceptable alternative. Players will be responsible for complying with the rules and purchasing the required items. Moving forward, the Club will evaluate the need for matching shells as we get closer to fielding the Varsity team. See below:

4-G-1 UNIFORMS A. All players, on a team, must be dressed in a similar color and design jerseys, pants and socks, or long pants. Goalies may wear sweat pants, which are similar in color to the team’s socks. Failure to have proper uniforms, during the game, will result in a two (2) minute minor penalty and the player will be removed from the ice and not allowed to continue play until the uniform infraction is corrected. The MSCHA Board of Directors may give a written waiver to this rule, but the team must have this waiver present at each game. Under no circumstances will a player display on his uniform anything other than the school name, logo player’s name and number. (Advertising, sponsors, and other information will cause the player to be removed from the game.)

More information regarding the B-team and jerseys will follow soon.

Club Updates

A few updates for the upcoming 22-23 season.

We will be holding a tryout for JV on 7/20 at Wentzville at 5:50pm. Please register to attend. We anticipate practices starting early September. Even if you cannot attend on 7/20 PLEASE register. Players that cannot be evaluated on that night will be evaluated at a summer camp skate. This skate is needed to determine the actual number of players that wish to play. There is a minimal $15 cost to cover our ice expense AND any associated transaction fees.

In regards to the B team. We plan to start practicing in January.

Once the tryouts are completed we will open registration for both seasons with additional details including jersey fitting.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Thank you.

2022/2023 Coaching Announcement

St. Charles County, MO. – Following an extensive national search, Mark Turnipseed has been named the first head coach of the Liberty Eagles JV hockey program, The Board of Directors for the club announced on Friday afternoon.

Turnipseed (pronounced Turnip-seed) becomes the 1st head coach in JV program history and the 2nd in the overall program's era, which began in 2021.

Born and raised in St. Louis, Mark spent his youth embedded in St. Louis hockey. He grew up a Meramec Shark where at the age of 9 made the switch from forward to goalie. From there, he would enjoy various levels of success playing with the AAA Blues, St. Louis Jr. Blues and at various USNTD camps. Most of this while also playing for Fox High School in the mid-states league.

After junior hockey, Mark played a couple seasons with the Missouri River Otters of the UHL before signing at Lindenwood University for their inaugural ice hockey program. During his 2 years at Lindenwood he was a 1st Team All American and ACHA Player of the Year in 2005. That same year, Mark was honored to represent the USA at the World University Games, a collegiate Olympic tournament in Innsbruck, Austria where his team would finish 4th and he would be recognized as one of the top goaltenders at the tournament.

After graduation, Mark was retained at Lindenwood in a coaching role where he would help take the program to 2 national championships during his 6 years. Mark enjoys coaching and sharing his knowledge of the game with today’s young players. Growing up he spent many years instructing at numerous goaltending camps around the area and eventually became a goaltending consultant for USA hockey while also at Lindenwood. Since then, he has coached high school hockey in St. Louis and most recently was involved in the St. Peters organization for many years before taking some time off to coach his daughter’s soccer teams. Now, Mark looks forward to getting back on the ice and is excited to be a part of the Liberty Hockey Club.

This is an exciting time for Liberty Hockey, and we're pleased to congratulate Mark as we continue to build this program.

Additionally, the club is extremely excited to bring back and re-sign our B-Team Head Coach, Grant Haddock (pronounced HAD-DOCK).

A St. Louis native, Grant grew up in Kirkwood and played at Kirkwood High School. He fondly remembers playing in the Mid-States Hockey Championships and experiencing the thrill of hoisting back-to-back Cups with an amazing bunch of teammates. These experiences led to fun exploits on inline and ice hockey mens’ leagues.

Grant spent several years with his older boys coaching 12U and 14U inline hockey in the St. Charles area. After these initial years as a coach, he began coaching at the St. Peters Hockey Club. From Mini-Mites through Bantam, he has been the Head Coach of many teams along the way and, in what’s past is prologue fashion, has been fortunate enough to guide some of those young players to hoist Blue Note Cups of their own over the years.

Most recently, he has served as the Liberty Eagles first ever B-Team Head Coach where the team has started the season on an unbeaten streak in league play at the midway point. Prior to that, he served as the Head Coach of the Holt High School B-Team. Grant is a USAH CEP Level 4 Coach with a “student of the game,” perspective. He’s a firm believer in bringing together a skillful, earnest, and invested group of coaches that will nurture and protect a positive team culture and embrace the philosophy of hockey as a rehearsal for good citizenship and future leaders.

Terms were not disclosed for either signing.
